Eastern :          Morang, Sunsari, Khotang, Dhankuta, Saptari

Central:           Kavre, Sindupalchowk, Sarlahi, Makawanpur, Chitwan

Western:         Tanahun, Kaski, Gorkha, Maygdi, Mustang

Midwest:         Surkhet, Dailekh, Banke, Pyuthan, Kalikot

Farwest:          Doti, Dadeldhura, Accham, Kailali, Baitadi

Project BeneficiariesThe primary beneficiaries of the project are women leaders associated with political parties, its women wings from central to district level who are potential candidates for the upcoming CA and local government election. Moreover, women leaders from VDC level women wings and networks/alliances will be benefitted directly from the project.

Project Description

Impact : The project aims to contribute towards equal and meaningful representation of woman’s voice at various levels of political parties and Legislative-Parliament/Constituent Assembly

Outcome : The project aims to achieve increased meaningful participation of Nepali women at the political party level and within the state structure starting from the upcoming CA election onward


The project delivers three results within its life and these include:

  1. Capacity of women leaders enhanced to claim for a meaningful and proportionate women's participation at different levels .
  2. Increased commitment of political parties  towards ensuring women's participation
  3. Increased public awareness on the importance of women political participation


OUTPUT 1: Capacity of women leaders enhanced to claim for meaningful and proportionate women participation at different levels.


  1. 5 days Regional level capacity building training on negotiation, advocacy & Persuasive Public Speaking skills to women leaders. (5  Events – one in each region)
  2. 1 day orientation program for 55 VDC level women leaders.
  3. Publication and distribution of training manual (for the trainers)
  4. Publication of information packs on Policy briefing

OUTPUT 2: Increased commitment of political parties towards ensuring women participation                                        


  1. Interaction and dialogue  between senior party members and IPWA members
  2. Interaction and dialogue between women wings of Political parties and their leaders at National
  3. Desk review of Women Participation in Political parties and State Organs

OUTPUT 3: Increased Public Awareness on importance of women political participation (4 activities)


  1. Interaction Program through FM Radio stations.
  2. Posters and Pamphlets Publication and distribution in five development  regions    
  3. Editor's Conference on Women Participation  in CA
  4. A campaign through Social Media (facebook, twitter, SMS etc) to promote women participation
