District Project Launching Meetings (SMARCO)

Jagaran Nepal has officially launched a project entitled ‘‘Women's Participation Especially from Marginalized Communities in Local Governance, Decision Making, Elections and Politics (SMARCO)" in six districts, aiming at increasing the meaningful participation of women especially from marginalized communities in local governance, decision making, elections and political parties. The 3 years long project is being funded by Governance Facility and implemented in partnership with district based NGOs in Kavre, Jhapa, Morang, Ilam, Panchthar and Teplejung.

Launching meetings has been carried out in different times in above mentioned six project districts, in the presence of district based major stakeholders such as Local Development Officers (LDOs), Chief District Officers (CDOs), District Education Officers (DEOs), District Health Officers (DHOs), District Agricultural Development Officers (DADOs), District Based Political Party Leaders, Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and other government and non-government stakeholders.

The key objectives of the launching were to inform the stakeholders about the project and seek their cooperation and continued guidance throughout the project period.
