Jagaran Nepal Participated in Rally to Celebrate Human Rights Day

Jagaran Nepal team and National Forum for Women Rights Concern (NFOWRC) actively participated in rally organized by NGO federation on 10th December 2012.

The rally was organized to mark 64th International Human Rights Day and National Human Rights Magna Meet 2012 and different Human rights organizations, human rights community, youths, students and Nepal Police have joined in the human rights rally in Kathmandu with the theme of ‘Inclusion and the right to participate in public life’ and logo of 'My Voice Counts'. The national slogan was 'Justice-friendly peace, human-rights-friendly constitution: Our campaign for building discrimination-free society'. The rally began at 8:30 from Bhrikuti Mandap and concluded after assembling in Shanti Vatika, Ratnapark.

In conclusion ceremony of the rally, various human rights activists and the representatives of civil society organizations addressed the mass. Jagaran Nepal and NFN chairperson Sharmila Karki concluded the program with a short speech. She focused that it is the duty of the state to ensure the human rights of every citizens. She urged the government to implement all national and international human rights laws and conventions.
