Project Advisory Unit Meeting of EEDG Held (24 Aug, 2012)

Jagaran Nepal and Himalaya Conservation and Development Association (HCDA) jointly organized Advisory Unit Meeting of “Electoral Education at Grassroots and District Level for Democratic Governance (EEDG)”project on 24th August 2012 at Jagaran Nepal hall. The meeting was organized amidst the participation of advisory unit members along with Jagaran Nepal and HCDA team. 

Jagaran Nepal in partnership with Himalayan Conservation and Development Association (HCDA) Humla has been implementing the project entitled "Electoral Education at Grassroots and District Levels for Democratic Governance (EEDG)" in five districts of Karnali Zone with financial assistance of European Union (EU). The project has a provision to form nine members Project Advisory Unit (PAU) at central level to get significant advices and other necessary inputs for effective implementation of action.

The meeting was chaired by Ms.Sharmila Karki, Chairperson of Jagaran Nepal. Mr. Raj Kumar Sapkota National Project Coordinator welcomed to all participants. Ms. Sharmila Karki highlighted the objective of the PAU meeting. She also shared the formation criteria and expectation of the project from PAU meetings.

In the meeting, National Project Coordinator presented the brief synopses of the project, updated status and requested advisors for their valuable inputs. Prof. Kapil Shrestha, co-chairperson of NEOC, Tanka Panta, media advisor of Jagaran Nepal, Ms. Shanta Sedhai, representative of Bar Association and Dala Rawal, Executive Director of HCDA Humla put their valuable suggestions and feedbacks. The first meeting of PAU was found very successful.
